2019 Miller County Fair!

The Miller County Fair is right around the corner!  Have you made plans to attend this exciting annual event?  Whether it's attending the parade or participating in the livestock show, there are a TON of ways to enjoy this fun summer tradition!  As your experienced team of real estate agents in Eldon, MO, we know how much fun it is for locals to attend this fair each year.  Take a look below to learn about the happenings you can look forward to this year.

Here’s What’s Happening at the Fair!

Parade

Kick off the fair by attending this annual parade.  The parade will be at 6:15 pm on Tuesday, July 23rd in downtown Eldon.  In the parade, you will see local 4-H groups, community floats, vintage cars, horse-drawn wagons, and much more.  This year's parade theme is "Home Grown Fun at The Miller County Fair!".  Attending the parade is a great way to see floats from local businesses and other fun organizations.  You never know, you may be able to stock up on thrown candy, too!

Carnival

Are you ready to ride?  Get your thrill on with the carnival rides!  The rides will be open Tuesday (7/23) through Saturday (7/27) evenings.  Armbands for unlimited rides (from 6:00pm – 10:30 pm) will be available for purchase nightly.  This is a great way to keep the kids entertained while making new memories together.  You can also purchase your armbands in advance at Gerbes in Eldon and at The Eldon Advertiser Office – if you purchase in advance, you save $5.00!

Little Royalty Contest

Wednesday night at 6:30 pm, you can participate in the Little Mr. & Miss pageant contest. It's a fun way to get your kids (ages 4 to 7 years old) involved and compete for various titles.

Pageant

The Miss Miller County and Miss Miller County Teen Scholarship pageants will be held on Monday, July 22nd at the Eldon High School Performing Arts Center, beginning at 6:30 pm.  Contestants will compete in a number of stages for the title.  Contestants for the Miss Teen Miller County contest should be between the ages of 13 and 16.  Contestants for the Miss Miller County Queen should be between the ages of 17 and 22.

Youth Livestock Shows

Check out the area youth as they compete in the 2019 Miller County Fair Livestock Shows!  There are a number of divisions in which you can spectate. The livestock shows are a fun way to watch area youngsters show off their livestock and their showmanship skills.

Livestock Show Schedule of Events:
The Bottle Calf Show - 5:00pm Tuesday, July 23rd
Sheep and Goat Shows - immediately following the Bottle Calf Show that same evening
The Hog Show - Wednesday, July 24th at 6:30pm
The Beef Show - Thursday, July 25th at 6:30pm
Rabbit Show - Friday, July 26th at 9:00am
Poultry Show - Friday, July 26th at 11:00am
Livestock Auction – Friday, July 26th at 6:30pm in the Show Arena

4-H/FFA Exhibits

Local 4-H and FFA chapters have members who will display their created items during the week at the fairgrounds. Judging will be on July 21st from 1:00pm – 3:00pm.

Compact Figure 8 Challenge

On Tuesday evening at 7:30pm, watch the rough and tough action.  Drivers will race around the figure 8 track gunning for first place in this thrilling race format.
Truck & Tractor Pull
The Stock Truck & Tractor Pull will be Thursday evening at 7:00 pm.  Come out to see horsepower put to the test as all sizes compete in pulling the sled down the track!

ATV Rodeo

Join the crowd at 7:30 pm on Friday evening for some ATV rodeo action! 

Demolition Derby

Come out for the Demolition Derby on Saturday, July 27th, the night of the fair. Watch as drivers slam into one another to see which car will come out on top.  The Derby is scheduled to start at 7:00pm.

Lion’s Club & 4-H Concessions

Make sure to include a stop at the Lion’s Club or 4-H concession stands.  You can choose a delicious pulled-pork dinner, 1/4 lb. hamburgers, bratwursts, hot dogs, pizza, Frito Lay snacks, a cool soft drink or bottle of water and much more.  Best of all, you will find all of the concession items featured at great prices!
