The Bagnell Dam Board of Realtors

Did you know there is a difference between a real estate agent and a REALTOR®? The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) upholds a strong code of ethics that real estate agents must adhere to if they wish to call themselves REALTORS®. Our own Vicki Devine is the President of the local organization, the Bagnell Dam Board of REALTORS® (BDAR). Devine and Associates works with BDAR to increase the education, training and professionalism of our real estate team at the Lake of the Ozarks so that our clients get the best service. Let's take a look at what BDAR is and how it helps real estate agents become REALTORS®.

Bagnell Dam Association of REALTORS®
Mission Statement

"It is the mission of the Bagnell Dam Association of REALTORS® to provide education, services, and tools which allow members to better serve their industry and the community both professionally and ethically. We promote and protect the right to own, transfer, and use real property."

BDAR consists of some of the Lake of the Ozarks best real estate agents. The organization helps bring training and educational resources to 100+ local agents as well as providing a website for all agencies to access information and resources. BDAR is one of the largest real estate associations in the Lake of the Ozarks area.

Professional Standards

REALTORS® are different from non-member licensees in that they voluntarily subscribe to a strict Code of Ethics.

In addition, REALTORS® agree as a condition of membership to arbitrate contractual disputes and specific non-contractual disputes as provided for in Article 17 of the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics.

Events/Resources

Membership allows REALTORS® access to both local and statewide events. These networking events can lead to referrals and additional educational resources that a REALTOR® can use to bolster his or her portfolio.

Education

One of the most important aspects of joining the Bagnell Dam Association of REALTORS® is education. BDAR will assist new agents in completing the 48 hour Missouri Pre-License Course and the additional 24 hour Missouri Practice Course. Once completed, agents can contact the Missouri Real Estate Commission (MREC) to take the official exam and apply for their license. Once an agent has completed his initial educational requirements, BDAR continues to educate him through various workshops, online learning, and code of ethics courses.

Affiliate Membership

Local businesses can become involved with BDAR as well. Affiliate membership allows local businesses to attend meetings and sponsor events. These businesses gain a lot of recognition for their contributions and membership. To download a list of BDAR affiliates click the link below

The Lobbying Arm of BDAR, NAR and REALTORS®

The REALTORS® Political Action Commitee (RPAC) promotes the election of pro-REALTORS® candidates to prominent positions. The money to support RPAC comes from voluntary contributions made by REALTORS®, not membership dues.
